BDSwiss serves up online trading on the ATP Tour
BDSwiss sponsors the MercedesCup until 2022
BDSwiss is delighted to announce an agreement to sponsor the MercedesCup, an ATP tour tennis tournament in Stuttgart, Germany, from 7-13 June 2021. The contest is expected to feature several of the world’s best players, as a curtain-raiser for the grass-court season and Wimbledon, the showpiece Grand Slam tournament of the ATP tour.
As a global financial services provider, BDSwiss will serve as the event’s exclusive online trading partner, as part of a 2-year sponsorship agreed with host and tournament organiser E|motion group. Becoming the event’s online trading partner is a milestone as it represents BDSwiss’ first sponsorship agreement since being founded in 2012.
Acting as the tournament’s gold partner, BDSwiss will obtain privileged access to the event and the ability to set up a commercial presence at the Tennis Club Weissenhofin tennis complex for the duration of the event in 2022. This year’s event is going ahead without spectators but will be broadcast free of charge via satellite, cable, IPTV, web and mobile by ServusTV Germany.
The first edition of the MercedesCup was held in Stuttgart in 1898, with Mercedes-Benz becoming the event’s title sponsor in 1979, although many tennis aficionados still refer to the tournament as the Stuttgart Open. As a ranking ATP tour event, the MercedesCup sports an illustrious hall of champions, including Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, who triumphed in 2018 and 2015, respectively.
Committed to performance
Partnering for the first time, BDSwiss and E|Motion Group are two organisations committed to technical expertise and a passion for performance. The sponsorship supports E|motion in its remit to host professional tennis tournaments as well as promoting grassroots sports initiatives as part of its operations.
Alexander Oelfke, CEO of BDSwiss commented: “Sponsoring a pro tennis tournament such as the MercedesCup for the next two years highlights our commitment to collaborate with leading sporting events and organisations.
“We want to associate ourselves with ATP tour tennis because the athletes participating in next month’s event are all at the top of their game and embody the same principles we do: professionalism, precision and a passion for performance.”
In 2021, 28 players will compete for the singles title and 16 pairs will contest the doubles crown at the Tennis Club Weissenhof. Alongside Germany’s top star Alexander Zverev, other notable names likely to attract attention are Australia’s eccentrically notorious “enfant terrible” Nick Kyrgios and Italian 19-year-old starlet Yannik Sinner, as the brightest of a new generation of players expected to grace the men’s tournament in Stuttgart this year.
Commenting on the partnership, managing director of E|motion Germany & Spain, Simon Schleich said: “We are very pleased and proud to welcome BDSwiss as Gold Partner of the MercedesCup, complementing for the first time ever an online trading company to our great lineup of leading companies and brands.
“The viewer will have the experience of immersing themselves even closer into the action – especially because sports events in 2021 will certainly be different than in the past. The premium quality coverage will also put our partners and sponsors in a special light. This will not only be a successful engagement but also offer a multitude of innovative activation options.”
“The trust given by BDSwiss for the next two years confirms the great fit of target-group consisting of enthusiastic tennis fans with attractive socio-demographics for financial services companies.”
Mr Oelfke added: “Sponsoring this event is a superb opportunity for us to present online trading and the BDSwiss brand to millions of people around the world. Just like top athletes, traders require discipline and great timing to be successful – that’s exactly the message we want to get across to everyone considering online trading for the first time.”
